Production grant
The production grant supports innovative theatre and dance productions with artistic ambition and professional weight in Denmark.
Beneficiaries of the production grant
Since 2025, Henrik Lydings Memorial Fund has continuously supported productions with artistic ambition, professional weight and long-term grounding in theatre and dance. This thus covers a broad spectrum, counting theatre, dance, musical, pantomime and revue.
Kerteminde Summer Revue
In 2026, Kerteminde Sommerrevy received the Production Grant to support the continuation of a strong revue tradition, where professional performing arts, local roots and popular appeal are united in an essential part of Funen's cultural life.

Bournonville Gala
Nomad Ballet Project received the Production Grant in 2026 to support the realization of a Bournonville Gala in Astana, which disseminates Danish ballet tradition at a high artistic level and strengthens the international exchange of performing arts.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The production grant is awarded to projects that combine artistic courage with professional grounding that can create a lasting mark in Danish performing arts.
Artistic quality and necessity
The project must be carried by a clear artistic idea and a clear ambition. Thus, emphasis is placed on the integrity of the work, originality and its artistic necessity.
Professional weight and thorough basis
The application must document a solid artistic and organizational foundation, including a competent creative team, realistic schedule and responsible finances.
Importance for the performing arts field
The project must have the potential to contribute significantly to Danish performing arts. Either by developing the form, strengthening the craft or adding new perspectives.
Sustainable and realisable
The Committee further assesses whether the project has the necessary prerequisites to be carried out at a high artistic level.

Applications are processed on an ongoing basis

First steps in the process
- When the application is received, it is registered and reviewed by the Henrik Lydings Memorial Fund Board to ensure that the necessary materials are attached.
- Applications that meet the formal requirements are forwarded for professional assessment.

Second step in the process
- The Board then makes an overall artistic and financial assessment of the project. Emphasis is placed on artistic quality, a well-thought-out project basis and the importance of the project for the performing arts.
- The Management Board may request additional information if deemed necessary.

Third step in the process
- After the overall assessment, the Board makes a decision on the award. Applicants will receive a written response by mail.
- The expected duration of treatment is up to 8 weeks from receipt of a fully disclosed application. Upon obtaining additional information, the waiting period can be expected to be extended.
- The decisions of the Board are final and it is not possible to appeal the decision.
Application for Production Grant
The application must contain:
- A project description with a clear explanation of the artistic idea, form and ambition of the work.
- Information about the participating artists and the creative team.
Timetable for development and realization. - Timetable for development and realization.
- Budget, indicating other funding and any partners involved.
- Brief motivated explanation of why the project seeks support from the Henrik Lydings Memorial Fund.
Emphasis is placed on clarity, artistic necessity and a well-thought-out project description.
The Foundation may request supplementary material. If it is considered that the Fund lacks additional information in the assessment process, this information will be collected.
